Zeleros' hyperloop system minimizes infrastructure complexity to achieve a scalable solution that will enable long-distance travel. By integrating Zeleros’ main levitation and propulsion technologies in the vehicle, the electrification needs of infrastructure are reduced, resulting in lower costs and easier maintenance. Zeleros’ fully-autonomous vehicle enables the use of a tubular infrastructure which has reduced construction and maintenance costs in comparison with other high-speed ground transport systems.

Twingz detects potential fire and/or water damage before it occurs and provides a fully transparent picture of your energy consumption, monitoring individual appliances, based on the end-user’s electricity and water meters. Using data disaggregation and machine learning, twingz aims to make power and water consumption transparent and controllable, as well as predictable and therefore safe. The machine learning prediction can detect discrepancies in usage patterns  and therefore give warnings about possible malfunction and potential damage. At the same time, usage data is continuously available to end-users.

Donkey Republic

City-integrated bike sharing platform

Donkey Republic developed and deployed a hub-centric bike sharing platform. The hub-centric model uses designated parking locations for the pick-up and drop-off of rentable bikes. A hub is defined by the GPS coordinates of a point and a radius (e.g. 10 meters) around that point within which riders can drop off a bike. This allows local authorities to control the use of public space, easily monitor locations and influence fleet distribution and growth. Users can count on bikes being available at specific locations. The Donkey Republic system is enabled by the communication between a mobile app and an electronic ring lock placed on the bike, via a low energy Bluetooth connection.

ALTO precision’s aim is to develop a range of solar-powered small-scale decentralised machinery for remote small holding agri-processing needs in India. Their current developments include a range of small-scale rice processing machines. The solar rice huller is a 360 W machine that can produce 100 kg/hour with a hulling efficiency of 98% in the first pass, which ALTO precision claims is the most efficient small-scale rice processing machine in the world, almost 50% more efficient than any other machine, at a low price. The machines are solar powered, high capacity and very efficient, giving farmers access to a sustainable energy source and providing food security and the opportunity to create an additional income.

Smart Air Dome space for recreation facilities

Traditional recreational facilities are costly to build and to operate. The Air Dome saves on construction time and cost. Due to the airtight feature and high efficiency insulation system, the MetaSpace Air Dome could save 2/3 of the energy cost compared with conventional sports facilities of the same size. MetaSpace Air Dome uses high performance architectural fabric as the dome’s “shell”. This is prefabricated off-site, and then assembled and inflated by an intelligent mechanical unit to form the envelope of the structure. The Air Dome combines advances in aeromechanics, new materials, ergonomics, energy saving and environmental protection to provide space for recreational facilities, logistic and warehousing centers.

Zbest Power Co. Ltd, has developed an innovative solution to renewable energy storage which they have called ‘Power Bank’. The company has developed a zinc-bromine flow battery, an emerging technology that provides a viable energy storage option for the fast-growing renewable energy market. The company has also built up in-house capability for developing key components and materials for the zinc-bromine flow battery including bipolar electrodes, membranes, electrolytes and flow frames, which could reduce the cost of the battery to half current levels.

Copper Restoration System

With 8 million tons of copper in use each year, a system that allows for repair of copper parts without the need for expensive and energy-intense remelting is sorely needed. The technique developed by Dong He uses electrochemistry to restore broken or damaged copper parts. Partial or whole surface re-manufacturing of parts can be achieved under normal temperatures and pressures, which results in significant energy savings. It is estimated that the electrochemical system uses as little as one tenth of the energy that would be required by a conventional remelting. The performance of the restored parts is also not compromised: testing has shown that the mechanical properties equal or surpass those of comparable materials from conventional production processes.
