The Gigaton Opportunity
For Incubators/Accelerators, Initiatives, and anyone else supporting the accelerated uptake of a new generation of globally sustainable solutions delivering avoided emissions for a future where everyone on the planet can live flourishing lives. The webpage was launched at the Mission Innovation ministerial meeting in Goa the 19-22nd of July 2023.
Assessment and Support Guide
With an expanded climate innovation agenda, the need to support and assess innovations and solution providers (rather than only focus on stakeholders as sources as emissions) is rapidly increasing. As the world is rapidly changing the drivers and opportunities will change. In order to meet different and changing demands this platform is user driven. It is meant as a matchmaking platform where users of assessments can communicate their needs to those developing tools and initiatives.
Climate Innovation Scanning
Identifying support for accelerated uptake of 1.5 °C compatible and globally sustainable solutions. Inspiring a new generation of climate and innovation leadership where the focus is on: 1. The human needs required for flourishing lives for everybody. 2. The solutions/solution providers who can deliver such solutions. In addition to the traditional work to reduce emissions from current large emitters based on sectors.
The Outdoor Climate Innovation Guide
Mission Innovation NCI/RISE together with leading garments, wardrobes, and flourishing lives experts are co-developing a tool to support companies, policy, and other stakeholders explore an expanded climate and innovation agenda for flourishing lives with the help of a full climate impact approach in four steps.
Flow and Mental Pollution Assessment using Brain Science
Using neuroscience to guide a new generation of companies that want to make the world a better place. This assessment is an important part of the toolbox for globally sustainable solutions. In addition to providing guidance for key stakeholders when it comes to identifying, supporting and accelerating solutions for the 21st century it also has the potential to provide guidance for a post SDG agenda with focus on flourishing lives for all on a regenerative planet.
Mission Innovation Net-Zero Compatible Innovations Initiative (NCI)
NCI was launched at the Mission Innovation Ministerial meeting to develop a Framework for Assessing Avoided Emissions to support investors and funders to identify those system solutions and technologies that have significant ability or potential to contribute to reduced greenhouse gas emissions in society, so called, avoided emissions.

History of avoided Emissions
History of avoided EmissionsHere is an overview of 35 key reports, initiatives and tools that focus on companies, and other stakeholders, as solution providers. The role of digitalisation and innovation dominating in the early 2000’s, then a phase were start-ups and transformative solution and exponential growth around 2010’s. Currently a tension between companies looking to “report and comply” net-zero and those who want to deliver 1.5 °C globally sustainable solutions is growing.
